Delete in the app
- Sign in to your Homie account and open Account → Settings → Delete account. The same option is available for clients and Homies.
- Read the account closure and deletion information. Confirm your current password, or use a recent sign-in as instructed.
- Choose Close account and schedule deletion. Homie checks your bookings, subscriptions, refunds and balances before closing the account.
If obligations remain, resolve the listed items and recheck. A blocked request does not start the 30-day deletion period. Contact support if you need help resolving an item.
Request help without app access
Email support@myhomie.co.za with the subject “Homie account deletion request”. Include your account email and, if known, your User ID. Send from the account email if you can.
Prepare deletion request emailThis opens your own email app. Nothing is submitted by this website. You must send the email yourself. Do not include your password, ID documents, bank statements, card details or one-time passwords.
Support needs to verify account ownership before arranging closure. The same booking, subscription, refund and balance checks apply. Sending an email alone does not close the account or start the deletion period.
When deletion starts
The 30-day period is exactly 30 × 24 hours from successful eligible account closure under the new deletion policy. It starts when access closes, after obligations are resolved. Account closure ends access; do not close an account if you need to keep using it.
Historical closures are not automatically given a new deletion schedule. If you closed an account earlier, or have not received confirmation of a deletion schedule, contact support for a review.
What is deleted
The policy covers personal account data and uploads held by Homie: profile and contact information, saved addresses and location data, verification documents, bank details, messages and other personal content.
Shared service and financial facts may remain after your identity, free text and location snapshots are removed. Homie keeps aggregate deletion evidence and a minimal deletion-control record.
Payment, verification and email providers may hold their own records. Those records and provider-managed backups follow the providers’ separate retention and deletion rules; the Homie schedule does not promise their deletion at the same time.
Read the privacy notice for more information, or contact Homie about your personal information.
